Oophaga lehmanni

Amphibian, Reptile and Wildlife Artwork by Jay Manchand aims to explore the often hidden mysteries of Nature and Science through Herpetology.

My practice is rooted in my concern for declining species of Amphibians – a subject I have explored thoroughly throughout my Masters & Bachelors degrees in Fine Art. My depictions of Frogs, using traditional mediums such as paint and coloured pencils, are an example of how art can be used as a tool to communicate topics of a scientific nature to a much wider audience.

From small, highly detailed illustrations of Frogs to larger, more evocative style paintings; my artwork is incredibly reflective of a curiosity and adoration for a unique species of animal in desperate need of immediate attention
